Franz Fertig JILL multifunctional sofa
JILL is a relax sofa with a sleep function that converts in seconds without tools. The seats sit on a swivel fitting and rotate 90° from the seating into the relax position; armrests and backrests can be folded down independently of this. This turns the sofa into a small corner group, a relax island, or a single or double bed with a 150 × 200 cm sleeping surface.
Two armrest shapes
The ratchet armrest is softly upholstered and works via a ratchet joint. To unlock it, press it inwards towards the seat surface; it can then be folded outwards down to horizontal and locked again in numerous intermediate positions by lifting it slightly — from an upright armrest, to a neck support, to a level extension of the sleeping surface. Folded out, the sofa then measures 236 cm.
The swivel armrest is narrow and angular in cut. Rather than folding down, it swivels together with the seat, remaining part of the sofa's clean silhouette even in the relax position. With this armrest, the sofa measures 228 cm folded out.
Two seat versions
With the smooth seat, the seat surface is worked without quilting seams — a calm, continuous surface that gives the sofa a plain, generous look.
With the quilted seat, quilting seams divide each seat element into several panels. The upholstery gains a visible structure and a softer, more homely appearance. Quilting is available with the ratchet armrest.
You also choose the base — upholstered in the cover material, or in bevelled beech, stained or top-coated — and one of six metal foot types. Covers are available in six fabric groups and five leather groups.
