The X dining table by Ethnicraft combines a powerful, sculptural design language with the natural warmth of solid oak. At first glance its construction appears clear and pared back, yet on closer inspection it reveals exceptionally elaborate woodworking. The result is a table that is robust, elegant and architectural at the same time.
Particularly characteristic is the interplay between the strikingly shaped table legs and the softer lines of the table top. The individual elements flow into one another almost seamlessly and give the table its expressive X-shaped construction. At the same time, the base frame has been designed so that as much legroom and seating comfort as possible is retained around the table.
With its generous table top, the X dining table is ideally suited to shared meals, sociable evenings and larger gatherings. Despite its solid construction, the balanced proportions and the curved transitions make the design appear elegant and timeless.
The X dining table was designed by Alain van Havre. The design impressively demonstrates the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern woodworking techniques and makes the table a characterful focal point for sophisticated dining areas.
Material
The X dining table is made from solid oak and treated with a protective hardwax oil finish. This surface treatment preserves the natural look and grain of the oak and at the same time supports the protection of the wood in daily use. The natural colouring provides a warm and authentic appearance.
