Ethnicraft STAIRS cabinet
An angular composition by Alain van Havre forms the core of a design that sets out to break away from static surfaces. Precisely aligning several angles creates volume; add light, and the many-faceted surface casts shadows and gains depth.
This piece was designed by Alain van Havre. For Alain van Havre, inspiration is everything. Closely connected to his surroundings and fascinated by natural materials, he has developed exceptional woodworking expertise over the years. His own design language revolves around form itself — most clearly in collections such as Bok, Graphic, PI and Stairs. Over the past twenty years he has decisively shaped Ethnicraft's signature.
This version is made from oak and finished with polyurethane lacquer in oak brown. The wood used is Quercus robur, sourced from Serbia.
The piece is intended for indoor use.
Material
The main material is mahogany. The surface is treated with polyurethane lacquer. Solid wood is a living material: grain, shade and texture differ from piece to piece — this is intended and not a defect.
