Ethnicraft Abstract console
The Abstract console by Ethnicraft combines a striking, architectural design language with the natural appeal of teak. Clear geometric surfaces, varying levels and deliberately placed gaps give the piece a sculptural appearance that changes again and again depending on the viewing angle.
The Abstract console was designed by Alain van Havre. Inspired by the Dutch art and architecture movement De Stijl, the design concentrates on pared-back shapes, balanced proportions and an intriguing interplay of horizontal and vertical surfaces.
The asymmetric construction makes the console not only a practical surface for storage, but also an expressive design object. The open areas create different perspectives and visual depths, so the Abstract console makes a distinctive impression both from the front and from the side.
The contemporary black finish reinforces the graphic and architectural character of the design. This makes the console particularly well suited to modern living areas and entrance halls, or as a decorative standalone piece on which lamps, books, art objects and other home accessories can be presented to great effect.
Material
The Abstract console is made from teak. The wood is tinted black and brushed, so that its natural structure remains visible while a striking, dark surface is created. A protective lacquer seals the wood and supports the resilience of the surface in daily use.
