DEDON MYMI armchair - high tech meets French esprit
With the MYMI armchair, the designers GamFratesi present a visionary further development of the iconic AIIR series. The basic idea: to reinterpret the classic shell chair and give it a deeply personal, craft-based aesthetic. MYMI combines Danish precision with Italian refinement and a charming "Sound of France". The name itself says it all – a fusion of "My" and "Mignonne" (French for "adorable"), which perfectly underlines the emotional bond with the design and its sculptural form.
The innovative seat shell is distinguished by a silhouette reminiscent of the delicacy of a porcelain cup. Behind this filigree appearance, however, lies technological excellence: the injection-moulded shell in 100% recyclable high-performance polypropylene provides maximum UV stability and a pleasant flexibility. At the DEDON manufactory in the Philippines, each shell is finished with 38 metres of DEDON fibre in around three hours of precision work, which gives the chair the flowing texture of a fine garment.
