Carl Hansen CH291 Lounge Chair
The CH290 series is a versatile collection for modern living spaces, striking a balance between function and form. It is characterised by plain oak frames whose joinery details are emphasised by relaxed upholstery. Designed in 1962, the CH291 Lounge Chair displays the classic Hans J. Wegner hallmarks in a strict solid wood frame. With its high backrest and neck cushion, the chair reflects precise craftsmanship in the dynamically angled legs, wide armrests and visible backrest slats. A carefully upholstered seat surface and backrest give it a relaxed expression, softening Wegner's strict hallmarks with an informal and versatile style. The lounge chair is beautiful from every angle and complements other designs by Hans J. Wegner as part of the wider Carl Hansen & Søn collection.
The CH291 has a frame of solid oak with angled legs, wide armrests and a high backrest of visible slats. It is available in five versions: soaped oak, clear lacquered, oiled, white oiled or black lacquered. The cushion set of seat, back and neck cushions is included and can be upholstered in eight fabric groups and three leather groups. Cushions with a down cushion pad, as well as an additional cushion set, are available at extra cost. The CH290F footstool is a matching companion piece to the CH291.
