The square CH106 sofa table belongs to Hans J. Wegner's CH100 furniture series from 1970, which also includes a lounge chair and three sofas sharing the same base frame. The substantial glass top rests on a frame of two bent flat-steel trestles connected by two crossing steel rails. The brushed flat steel shows a smooth, even surface that remains visible through the polished glass — rounded corners and soft curves take the severity out of these hard materials. Alongside the square CH106, Wegner also designed the CH108, a rectangular version of the table. Both tables show that Wegner worked well beyond wood without abandoning his balance of simplicity and character.
The table is available in two sizes: the square CH106 and the rectangular CH108. The table top and frame are executed identically on both — polished glass on brushed stainless steel. There is no choice of material or finish for this model.
