Signet Meral upholstered bed

Meral is the bed for two people with different ideas of comfort. The thickly padded headboard consists of two separate folding elements, and each side can be adjusted individually — upright for reading, flat for sleeping. This way, everyone finds their own position without the other having to give up theirs.

The upholstery is deliberately soft and relaxed in finish; a slight rippling is part of this look. In fabric, the cover is always removable; in leather, Signet Meral is made as fixed upholstery. Manufactured in Germany.

Side panel height

The side panel — the upholstered side wall of the bed frame — is available in a choice of 18 or 27 cm. The side panel houses a four-way adjustable cushion pad for the slatted frame: at the 5, 7.5, 10 or 12.5 cm settings with the 18 cm side panel, and at 14, 16.5, 19 or 21.5 cm with the 27 cm side panel. This lets you match the height of the top of the mattress to your own mattress — the thicker the mattress, the deeper the cushion pad setting. Both heights cost the same, and the overall height of the bed does not change as a result.

Two bed storage boxes to choose from

The two variants differ fundamentally. Variant 1 is inserted into the finished bed: it consists of two parts that are joined together during assembly and covered with a hook-and-loop cover. The bed keeps its four regular feet. With a footprint of 96 to 176 × 186 cm at 14.5 cm height, Variant 1 offers the greater storage capacity, but is not available in special lengths.

Variant 2 is part of the construction: four recessed metal feet support the bed and simultaneously hold the storage frame. Regular bed feet are therefore omitted, the bed frame is permanently upholstered, and the bed gains a floating appearance. The footprint measures 86 to 166 × 166 cm at 14.5 cm height; Variant 2 is also available for bed frames in 210 and 220 cm length. Both storage boxes are open at the top and supplied without a base — dispensable on smooth floors. For Variant 2, an insert base made of white-coated hardboard is available on request. Both require a slatted frame that can be folded up.

Accessories

The LED reading light comes as a set of two lights and one power supply: warm white light at 3000 Kelvin, dimmable via a touch switch, on a flexible, black-sheathed gooseneck. The LEDs shine downwards as a reading light and upwards as ambient light. The bed has two USB-C ports on each side — one at 5V/1A for the phone, one at 5V/2A for the tablet. The orientation light is likewise a set of two: slim LED strips measuring 23 × 2.1 × 2.1 cm, mounted to the lower edge of the bed side panel. A motion sensor switches them on and off automatically when getting out of bed. 230 volts, 2 watts.

The Vince console is a floating shelf with a pull-out, 30 × 30 cm at 11 cm height. It replaces the bedside table and leaves the floor beneath it free. The carcass is made of oak or walnut, solid or part-solid, according to the Signet colour range. It is priced as a pair, for both sides of the bed.
