Carl Hansen OW150 Daybed
The clean, classic OW150 Daybed was designed in 1963 by Ole Wanscher with a single long cushion pad that appears to float above a rectangular, solid oak frame. It is, however, supported by a fine yet strong cotton webbing. Hand-sewn buttons create a simple square pattern that emphasises the geometric shape of the daybed, while an optional neck cushion further increases comfort and relaxation. The OW150 Daybed clearly shows how fascinated Wanscher was by classic furniture design and how he used it as a source of inspiration. He studied it wherever he went, incorporating the styles and elements that, in his view, best combined functionality and aesthetics. Today, his modern classics are still admired for their attention to detail and his great respect for good materials.
The OW150 has a solid wood frame and is available in three versions: soaped oak, oiled oak, or white-oiled oak. The seat surface consists of black cotton webbing. The cushion pad, made of foam and down, is included and can be covered in eight fabric groups and three leather groups. A neck cushion is available at an additional cost.
