The OW2000 Egyptian Folding Stool was designed in 1957 by Ole Wanscher. The influence of his travels outside Denmark is clearly visible in this fascinating design. During his time in Egypt, Wanscher developed a fascination with the ancient seating of powerful figures. This led to the design of the elegant, lightweight Egyptian Stool, inspired by furniture found in the Temple of Thebes. The stool's design is a graceful nod to its source of inspiration, while both its expression and construction are distinctly modern. The saddle leather seat folds away neatly into the stool's frame when closed. Many of Wanscher's designs have become collector's items thanks to their timeless simplicity and excellent craftsmanship. The OW2000 Egyptian Folding Stool is no exception.
The OW2000 has a solid wood frame and is available in five versions: soaped oak, lacquered, oiled, white oiled or black lacquered. The seat is made of saddle leather from leather group D; there is no cover choice for this model.
