Carl Hansen CH008 sofa table
The CH008 by Hans J. Wegner from 1954 reflects his preference for simple, clear yet interesting solutions. The table consists of a round solid wood table top on a frame with three removable, tapering legs. A solid triangular frame connects the table top and legs and supports the table top; its corners are cut at an angle at the edge of the table top. The rounded shape of the legs gives the sofa table an elegant, almost floating appearance. Because the table has only three legs, it also stands securely on slightly uneven floors.
The CH008 is made in three table top diameters: Ø 78, Ø 88 and Ø 100 cm. The legs are available in three lengths for a table height of 44, 48 or 53 cm; all three heights cost the same. The table top and legs are manufactured separately and can be freely combined, even across wood types. The table top is available in soaped oak, clear lacquered, oiled, white oiled or black lacquered oak, as well as in clear lacquered or oiled walnut; for the Ø 78 cm diameter, oiled teak is also available. The legs come in the same five oak finishes as well as clear lacquered or oiled walnut.
