With its clean look, the CH56 bar stool creates an inviting atmosphere in the kitchen, at the bar or in a restaurant. The stool is robust and stable thanks to its four slightly angled legs. The stainless steel ring that holds the legs together provides stability and offers a place for the feet to rest. The stool's sturdy construction is well thought out in terms of stability — typical of Hans J. Wegner. The legs, which are strongest at the point where they connect to the ring, taper both towards the floor and towards the seat. The bar stool is also available in a lower version, the CH58. The CH56 is designed to be used at a bar, while the lower version, CH58, is more suited to a kitchen counter.
The legs of the CH56 are made of solid oak — soap-treated, lacquered, oiled, white-oiled or black — or of walnut, lacquered or oiled. The round seat is foam-padded and upholstered in leather; leather groups A (Loke), B (Thor) and C (Sif and Terra) are available. There are no fabric covers for this model. The footrest ring is made of stainless steel. The CH56 has a seat height of 76 cm; the lower version, CH58, with a seat height of 68 cm, is offered by Carl Hansen & Søn as a separate product.
