Carl Hansen & Søn is expanding its collection of furniture by Børge Mogensen with a flexible storage system that has never been produced before. In collaboration with Børge Mogensen's family, Carl Hansen & Søn has brought several of the furniture designer's forgotten design drawings to life. The result is an expandable shelving system that can be built up, reconfigured and extended to meet individual storage needs. The system can be adapted to different room sizes. The flexible, multifunctional shelving system is an expression of simplicity. It consists of shelf elements in veneered wood in various sizes and a cabinet module in solid wood. The elements are mounted onto a frame of cylindrical metal struts of varying lengths. Shelf and cabinet modules can be combined as needed – in particular, mixing open and closed modules creates a rhythmic, transparent look.
This product covers the individual modules of the system: they can be ordered separately to extend an existing BM0253 or to build your own. Shelves, inner shelves, cabinet and veneered doors are available in oiled oak, oiled white oak and oiled walnut; walnut is only made in an oiled version. The MDF doors are lacquered and available in five colours: black, blue, grey, green and red. Strut sets, legs and the connector set are made of powder-coated steel and are only available in black (RAL 9005) or grey (NCS S4005-G50Y). Strut sets and legs are available as sets of four or six. The 45 × 150 cm cabinet already includes a 45 cm strut set (6 pieces), two shelves and pre-drilled mounting holes for the brackets; doors and legs are ordered separately.
