The S 32 cantilever chair (artistic copyright: Mart Stam) is one of the most popular and best-known tubular steel furniture designs. This design icon is at home in many design worlds and areas of use. As a lounge chair, the design combines architectural lines, clear form and particular comfort. The flex of the tubular steel frame contributes significantly to the comfort of the S 32 Lounge as well. The typical characteristics of cantilever chairs are combined here with the design features of a lounge piece: for maximum ergonomics, the seat surface has been widened (58 cm) and tilted slightly backwards. The S 32 Lounge has no armrests, allowing for communicative, relaxed seating side by side. Thanks to its matched seat height of 40 cm, the lounge chair combines ideally with sofas, yet, unlike upholstered armchairs, impresses with formal lightness and compact dimensions. The lightweight lounger does not take up much space; thanks to its airy tubular steel frame it appears transparent, open and generous — presenting itself as the perfect complement to sofas or as a statement piece in co-working spaces, representative reception areas or stylishly furnished private rooms.

The S 32 L lounge chair stands on a chrome-plated tubular steel frame and has no armrests; a powder-coated frame including glides is available for a surcharge. It is made in five versions: with cane weave at seat and back, with plastic mesh at seat and back, with upholstered seat and cane-weave or mesh back, and as a fully upholstered version. The wooden parts are finished in beech I as standard; beech II is available for a surcharge. Oak and walnut as Pure Materials are available, finished with natural wood lacquer, for the versions with cane weave (cane weave / upholstered seat, cane-weave back), and oiled for the versions with mesh (plastic mesh fabric / upholstered seat, mesh back); the fully upholstered version is not available in either of these finishes. The upholstered versions have black plastic piping and are finished with either a flat seam or a double top-stitched seam. Depending on the version, the seat height is 40 or 41 cm.

Full upholstery: With the full upholstery version, the seat shell is covered all round in fabric or leather, including the back. The wood surface is then no longer visible. This gives the chair a softer, calmer and more homely look than the mirror upholstery version.

Comfort upholstery: Comfort upholstery is a particularly elaborate upholstery construction: depending on the model, a fine non-woven layer is additionally sewn in. This makes the cushion softer to sit on and, at the same time, more durable, as the cover is loaded more evenly.
