Signet Oakland Upholstered Bed

Oakland follows a distinctly cubic design language: a flatly proportioned, upholstered headboard just 11 cm deep, clean edges and a slim bed frame. The headboard is available in a total height of either 80 or 100 cm.

The headboard cover is removable in fabric; in leather, Signet Oakland is made as a fixed cushion pad. On request, the bed frame is also supplied with a removable cover. The cover fabrics come from the Signet fabric collection.

Signet makes every bed from the timber batten up in its own workshops.

Two bed storage boxes are available, which differ fundamentally. Variant 1 is inserted into the finished bed: it consists of two parts that are joined together during assembly and covered with a Velcro-fastened slipcover. The bed keeps its four regular feet. With a footprint of 96 to 176 × 186 cm at 14.5 cm height, Variant 1 offers the larger storage capacity but is not available in special lengths.

Variant 2 is part of the construction: four recessed metal feet support the bed and simultaneously hold the storage box frame. Regular bed feet are omitted, the bed frame is fixed-covered, and the bed gains a floating appearance. The footprint measures 86 to 166 × 166 cm at 14.5 cm height; Variant 2 is also available for bed frames in 210 and 220 cm length. Both storage boxes are open at the top and supplied without a base — dispensable on smooth floors. For Variant 2, an insert base made of white-coated hardboard is available on request. Both require a fold-up slatted frame.

Accessories

The LED reading light comes as a set of two lights with one power supply: warm white light at 3000 Kelvin, dimmable via a touch switch, on a flexible, black-sheathed gooseneck. The LEDs shine downwards as a reading light and upwards as ambient light. The bed has two USB-C ports on each side — one at 5V/1A for the phone, one at 5V/2A for the tablet. The orientation light is likewise a set of two: slim LED strips measuring 23 × 2.1 × 2.1 cm, mounted to the lower edge of the bed's side panel. A motion sensor switches them on and off automatically when getting in or out of bed. 230 volts, 2 watts.

The Vince console is a floating-mounted shelf with a pull-out, 30 × 30 cm at 11 cm height. It replaces the bedside table and leaves the floor beneath it free. The carcass is made of oak or walnut, solid or part-solid, in Signet colour samples. We price it in pairs, i.e. for both sides of the bed.
