Wegner's light, sculptural CH33T is based on the ideas and shapes typical of his finest designs. The chair was designed in 1957 for Carl Hansen & Søn and produced for ten years. After a break of around 45 years, production resumed in 2012. The design of the CH33T is characterised by strong character and clear organic shapes. The height, depth and angle of the elegant chair are carefully tailored to the user, and the dimensions of the wood are chosen according to the aspects Wegner considered decisive. The distinctive curved backrest is crafted from moulded veneer with visible round cover caps. The chair's wooden construction feels dynamic and is well suited to modern interiors. The CH33T version of the chair is made with a veneer seat surface and is available in various types of wood and a range of colours. The CH33P has an upholstered seat covered in leather or textile, which increases comfort and emphasises its luxurious appearance.
The CH33T has a solid wood frame; the seat and backrest are made of moulded veneer, without upholstery. The frame is available in beech, soaped, clear-lacquered, oiled or lacquered in colour in the CHS Soft Colors (gloss 5, soft), in oak, soaped, clear-lacquered, oiled, white-oiled or black-lacquered (NCS S9000-N, gloss 20), and in oak/walnut, clear-lacquered or oiled — oak/walnut means that the frame and cover cap are made of oak and the seat and backrest of walnut. Lacquered beech shows only minimal wood grain, while lacquered oak shows a clearly visible grain.
