Carl Hansen CH88T Stuhl
Although Hans J. Wegner was known throughout his career for his work in Wood, he often experimented with the limits and potential of other materials as well. The carefully considered CH88T dining chair is one such example. The design was initially developed by Wegner as a prototype with coloured Legs. It was exhibited in 1955 at the international Helsingborg Exhibition in Sweden. Decades later, Carl Hansen & Søn put the chair into production in 2014 to mark the centenary of Wegner's birth.
The CH88T has a Frame in stainless steel or black powder-coated steel – the two Frames are selectable here as Variants. The seat is made of veneer, the Backrest of solid Wood. The Wood is available in beech – soap-treated, clear lacquered, oiled or lacquered in colour in one of the nine CHS Soft Colors (gloss level 5) – or in oak – soap-treated, clear lacquered, oiled, white oiled or black lacquered (NCS S9000-N, gloss level 20). Lacquered oak shows a clearly visible wood grain, lacquered beech only a minimal amount of structure. The colour shade is only selected for the beech lacquered in colour Version; for all other Versions this specification has no relevance. Accessories include a stacking protector and a matching connector set; the chair is stackable up to four units high.
