Walter Knoll Saddle Barstool
The barstool follows the concept of a consistent, elegant Shape: handcrafted with precision, formally classic and at the same time exceptionally comfortable. The taut Upholstery underlines its clear, reduced finesse and provides excellent seating comfort at the table, bar or counter.
The Saddle Chair is available in two dimensions: as a barstool or as a classic chair – each with a Backrest. The leather parts are cut with great precision, the seams carefully guided, and the edges dyed and polished.

Cold foam
Cold foam is a high-quality, shape-retaining upholstery foam distinguished by its particular elasticity and resilience. It adapts comfortably to the Body without losing its Shape. In high-quality upholstered furniture, cold foam ensures precise, comfortable and durably shape-retaining seating. After being under load, the material quickly returns to its original Shape – this results in fewer permanent seat impressions, and the Upholstery retains its characteristic Shape.
Note: leather hides are selected by specialists according to strict specifications and high inspection standards. Leather naturally has both soft and firm areas of hide, which may also be processed alongside one another. It stretches through Body heat and moisture during use, which to a certain extent creates waves and creases (so-called seat impressions). Favourite seating spots show this particularly clearly. This adjustment process is largely complete after a few weeks; further stretching is minimal and inconspicuous. Depending on the tanning method, dyeing and surface treatment, leather initially has a product-typical smell, which noticeably fades over the course of a few weeks; airing can speed this up. Walter Knoll uses several leather hides for a single upholstered group. No hide is identical to another. Insect bites, small marks from fences or scuffles leave small scars on the cattle hide that can be rediscovered in the leather. Stretch marks are a sign of the animal's health and good nutrition. These material-typical characteristics do not impair the quality of the leather furniture. Differences in sheen, colour and texture within a single hide and between the cut pieces of a Cover are likewise characteristic and typical of leather furniture.
