“Precision, but soft as a cushion.” The attitude of the designers EOOS shows in Molamisa in a deliberately casual shape. Relaxed and playful, without ever appearing shapeless. Playfulness meets clear lines, softness meets precision. The result is a balance of nonchalance and order. Calm in character, clear in effect. Molamisa is more than a sofa – it shapes the room. Its adaptable architecture allows new forms of expression to emerge again and again.

Like a landscape of movable islands, it changes the spatial surroundings, forms different heights and depths and creates ever new compositions. Formal and straight-lined with evenly arranged rests, or casual and relaxed with variably positioned rests: Molamisa adapts to different situations. This creates either a sheltered retreat for private moments or an open stage for sociable gatherings. Molamisa can be adjusted intuitively.

With gentle pressure or a light pull, the rests can be moved effortlessly into the desired position. The sophisticated mechanism makes it possible to choose your personal seating position individually without affecting the position of the others. Upright for lively conversations, reclined for relaxed moments – Molamisa creates space for different needs and forms of togetherness. The rests are identically dimensioned and serve equally as armrest and backrest. EOOS dissolves the classic linear shape of the sofa. Angled surfaces create new geometric modules that can be arranged into varied compositions.

The generous seat surfaces combine into expansive lying areas – ideal for relaxed lounging, shared time out or sociable gatherings. The angled arrangement means that those seated face one another. This creates an open and inviting atmosphere that brings people closer and puts togetherness centre stage.

Cold foam: Cold foam is a high-quality, dimensionally stable upholstery foam distinguished by its particular elasticity and resilience. It adapts comfortably to the body without losing its shape. In high-quality upholstered furniture, cold foam provides precise, comfortable and lastingly dimensionally stable seating. After being under load the material quickly returns to its original shape, so fewer permanent seat impressions form and the cushion keeps its characteristic shape.

Note: the hides are selected by specialists according to strict specifications and high testing standards. By nature, leather has soft and firm areas of skin, which may also be worked side by side. It stretches in use through body heat and moisture. This produces a certain degree of waves and creases (known as seat impressions). Favourite spots document this particularly clearly. This adaptation process is largely complete after a few weeks. Further stretching is minimal and inconspicuous. Depending on the tanning method, dyeing and surface treatment, leather initially has a smell typical of the material. It diminishes noticeably over the course of a few weeks and airing can speed this up. For one upholstery group, Walter Knoll works several hides (between five and seven). No hide is like another. Insect bites, minor injuries from fences or traces of fighting leave small scars on the cowhide that you may rediscover in the leather. Growth folds are a sign of the animal's health and good nutrition. These material-typical characteristics do not impair the quality of the leather furniture. Differences in sheen, colour and structure within a hide and between the cut parts of a cover are also characteristic and typical of leather furniture.
