Signet Arad upholstered bed

Arad is built along clean, cubic lines, comfortably upholstered and thought through down to the last detail. The bed surround in solid oak runs right under the headboard; together with the noticeably recessed feet, this gives the bed a floating lightness.

The headboard is softly curved and upholstered, with an integrated oak shelf. For an additional charge, two compartments with a cover panel can be fitted into both sides of the shelf, opened via a leather strap. The construction method results in a reinforced bed frame.

Choose the side rail height — the side rail is the upholstered side wall of the bed frame — between 18 and 27 cm. The side rail houses a four-way adjustable support for the slatted frame: with the 18 cm side rail, this can be set to 5, 7.5, 10 or 12.5 cm; with the 27 cm side rail, to 14, 16.5, 19 or 21.5 cm. This lets you match the height of the mattress's top edge to your mattress — the thicker the mattress, the lower the support setting. Both heights cost the same, and the overall height of the bed does not change as a result.

Two bed storage boxes are available, and they differ fundamentally. Variant 1 is inserted into the finished bed: it consists of two parts that are joined together during assembly and covered with a hook-and-loop cover. The bed retains its four regular feet. With a footprint of 96 to 176 × 186 cm at 14.5 cm height, Variant 1 offers the greater storage capacity but is not available in special lengths.

Variant 2 is part of the construction itself: four recessed metal feet support the bed and simultaneously hold the storage box frame. Regular bed feet are therefore omitted, the bed frame has a fixed cover, and the bed takes on a floating appearance. The footprint measures 86 to 166 × 166 cm at 14.5 cm height; Variant 2 is also available for bed frames in 210 and 220 cm lengths. Both boxes are open at the top and supplied without a base — dispensable on smooth floors. For Variant 2, an insert base in white-coated hardboard is available on request. Both variants require a foldable slatted frame.

Accessories. The orientation light is a set of two: slim LED strips measuring 23 × 2.1 × 2.1 cm, fitted to the lower edge of the bed's side rail. A motion sensor switches them on and off automatically when getting out of bed. 230 volts, 2 watts.
