Stainless steel
Stainless steel is also known as RVS or INOX. It is an iron alloy. Its corrosion resistance is increased by the addition of chromium and nickel. The principle is based on protecting the outer surface with chromium oxide and nickel oxide molecules. These molecules are larger than the iron atoms beneath them, so no bond with oxygen can form to create rust.
