Sam Hecht and Kim Colin, founders of the London practice Industrial Facility, are known internationally for the beauty and grace of their designs, which almost always draw on the most ordinary everyday objects. For Kristalia they designed Palco, an outdoor seating system inspired by pallets, slatted tables and classic decking boards. Palco consists of a slatted base in teak or aluminium with a metal frame and one or more upholstered elements that can be combined into various configurations, which can also be changed after purchase. The platform can be covered entirely with the upholstered elements or serve as a low table on which to place a lamp, a book or a cocktail. Kristalia recommends covered and semi-covered verandas and terraces as the ideal location for Palco.
