The legendary French designer Pierre Paulin originally designed the Pacha Lounge Chair in 1975. Paulin shaped the chair in keeping with the changing design style of his time, replacing the austerity of post-war design with a new, energetic approach. He succeeded in giving the rounded forms of the Pacha Lounge Chair genuine elegance by finding the perfect proportions, raising it slightly on its base and working seams into the foam and the cover that slope inwards.
Through pieces such as the Pacha Lounge Chair, Pierre Paulin paved the way for low-level living, a modern way of living and sitting on the floor by dispensing with chair legs. With comfort as the constant starting point of his designs, the curved, playful and organic forms of the Pacha Chair are made to serve the body and to offer both comfort and cosiness.
