SOLANAS is the new GANDIABLASCO collection, born of the aesthetic sensibility and passion for the outdoors of the Argentinian architect and designer Daniel Germani. It is a homage to SOLANAS, a beach in Uruguay where Daniel Germani spent his summers. A paradise with endless sunsets and beaches that disappear on the horizon. He also pays tribute to his father, a man who was always ready to open the doors of his house to friends and family. As talented as a cook as he was as a host, the trained engineer with exceptional aesthetic sensibility designed the outdoor area of his house in Solanas for his many guests and for the enjoyment of his three passions: nature, family and gastronomy.

Founded in 1941, the family business began by manufacturing blankets. In the mid-'80s it turned to the design of rugs. Since 2000 the company has concentrated exclusively on products for the outdoor area. SOLANAS is an outdoor furniture collection designed by Daniel Germani in collaboration with GANDIABLASCO and Dekton® by Cosentino, comprising innovative products with a character of their own. It combines structures in extruded aluminium, GANDIABLASCO's favourite material, with Dekton®, a low-maintenance material composed of the raw materials used for glass, porcelain stoneware and quartzite, which is used for the surfaces of the SOLANAS tables.

The surfaces of these tables designed with Dekton® guarantee long durability, as they withstand UV rays, scratches and stains and have no porosity whatsoever. Germani took his inspiration from SOLANAS, the beach where the Argentinian architect holidayed with his family as a child and where, together with his father, he enjoyed outdoor living in the midst of nature and good moments with the family. In Daniel Germani's new collaboration with GANDIABLASCO he seeks to recreate, through outdoor furniture, the places associated with his most treasured childhood memories. The Solanas collection is composed of furniture with which this house on the coast of Uruguay might have been furnished. This collection is therefore founded on simple forms, durability and comfort. The modular pieces of Solanas, designed to adapt to the needs of every situation, invite us to settle down on them to share pleasant moments together.

SOLANAS, AESTHETICS AND PRECISION

In GANDIABLASCO and Dekton® by Cosentino, Daniel Germani has found the perfect allies to express his understanding of outdoor furniture. "Dekton is an indestructible material and makes a great deal of sense for a furniture collection such as GANDIABLASCO's, which is equally indestructible. I consider it an ideal combination," Daniel Germani comments on SOLANAS. SOLANAS brings together in one collection elegance with durability, discreet lines and longevity. This is possible thanks to the collaboration of two brands committed to design and innovation. The aluminium structures of the SOLANAS collection are available in grey, blue, green and orange with various finishes from different Dekton® collections, among them the Dekton® Solid Collection - solid, unvarying colours with a very fine grain -, the Dekton® Natural Collection - textures that imitate the best of nature - and the Dekton® Industrial Collection, a collection following a distinctly urban trend of iron or concrete beams and brick.

The GANDIABLASCO team and Daniel Germani focus on the search for exclusive finishes and colours for the collection, such as the special edition of SOLANAS: thermo-lacquered in gold-white, a tone that changes in the light depending on the position of the viewer. As Daniel Germani says: "Gold is a colour that says a great deal to me. Like Solanas, it conveys a discreet, unreserved elegance."
