Kilt, a modern collection of garden chairs with rope weave, grew out of the collaboration between Ethimo and Marcello Ziliani. Kilt unites the best qualities of a design intended for outdoor use in a single product. "Kilt was inspired by the famous wrap skirt worn by the proud inhabitants of the Highlands," explains designer Marcello Ziliani. "In the same way, the backrest surrounds the seat without being joined to it - like the skirt, which leaves the knees free." The Kilt garden chair is a versatile piece, able to adapt in an original way to the most varied styles and to interpret the setting without disturbing its colour or aesthetic balance. The collection is supplied with a teak or stainless steel frame. The teak that characterises the pieces in this series is carefully selected and processed by Ethimo.
The Kilt garden chair is distinguished by the dynamic pattern of the covering on seat and backrest and combines a light design with the practicality of the material. Its robustness also makes it ideal for commercial use.
The ropes used for the seats and backrests of the Ethimo collection are the result of extensive research. The PVC with nylon core, produced in different cross-sections and colours, is distinguished by its exceptional resistance and its lustrous colour and surface. The polypropylene of the Flat Rope version and the acrylic used for the Round Rope version are resistant to UV rays, abrasion and weathering while ensuring tightness and comfort.
