Stephen Burks, one of the most gifted talents of a new generation of American designers, created the new DEDON collection DALA. The source of inspiration was the improvised seating typical of developing countries and the skilled craftspeople who make it. DALA is probably the first collection of woven furniture to bring surface and structure into harmony. The work of art begins with the colourful frame in powder-coated expanded aluminium. The experienced master weavers then thread a novel eco fibre through the geometric aluminium grid. The innovative idea for the fibre, developed over years of product development and made from recycled food packaging and recycled polyethylene, also comes from DEDON. The DALA collection consists of a stool / side table with a diameter of 60 cm, a coffee table and a stool. The latter can also be converted into a side table. A standard side table is available as well.
DEDON fibre is not only extremely weather-resistant and unaffected by cold, heat, sun, rain or snow, it also has exceptional colour and structural stability and is impervious to chlorinated and salt water.
