Stephen Burks, one of the most gifted talents of a new generation of American designers, created the new DEDON collection DALA. The source of inspiration was the improvised seating typical of developing countries and the skilled craftspeople who make it. DALA is probably the first collection of woven furniture to bring surface and structure into harmony. The work of art begins with the colourful frame of powder-coated expanded aluminium mesh. The experienced master weavers then thread a new kind of eco-fibre through the geometric aluminium grid. The innovative idea for this fibre, which emerged after years of product development and is composed of recycled food packaging and recycled polyethylene, also comes from DEDON. The DALA collection comprises an armchair, a coffee table and a stool. The latter can also be used as a side table. A conventional side table is available as well.
DEDON fibre is not only extremely weather-resistant and unaffected by cold, heat, sun, rain or snow, it also has exceptional colour and structural stability and is impervious to chlorinated and salt water.
