The MG501 Cuba Chair by Morten Gøttler takes the concept of an additional seat to a new level. It is made with a solid oak Frame, with cotton webbing running around the Frame to form a comfortable seat and Backrest, offering excellent support as it gently follows the contours of the Body. A chair that, with its natural materials, clean cotton webbing and excellent craftsmanship, has the elegance of a sculpture. Altogether, it wonderfully embodies the concept of complex simplicity. The MG501 Cuba Chair thus stands for everything Gøttler became known for: his clear, light aesthetic and considered Shape, along with designs of exquisite comfort and great attention to detail — all crafted from high-quality materials.
In this Version (MG501W), the seat and Backrest are made of cotton webbing. The Frame in solid oak is available soap-treated, oiled or black lacquered; the webbing can be chosen in natural or black. According to the manufacturer, the black lacquered chair is only available with black cotton webbing — for this Version, therefore, only this one webbing Colour is available. The Cuba Chair is also available with a seat and Backrest in natural paper cord (MG501C, as a separate product), as well as in an outdoor version with weather-resistant synthetic Weave.
